In the UK during the summer we love a good event outdoors in the sunshine. Whether this is music festivals to village fetes there’s always something for everyone. In this article we look into something for the boys and explore the best car shows to attend in the UK throughout the year. FIA / FIM_European_Championship1. FIA/FIM European Championships – The Finals at Santa Pod Raceway is a highlight of the year bringing together drag racing teams from across Europe with 250 teams taking part. There’s Top Fuel Dragsters, Drag Bikes, jet cars, air displays, stunts and monster trucks giving something for the whole family to enjoy. If you want to see some of the fastest cars from across Europe battling out to be named the fastest up the quarter mile strip then this is the show for you. Expect lots of speed, lots of noise and lots of burnouts on the track.

2. The British Racing & Sports Car Club – If cars’ screaming up a quarter mile strip isn’t exciting enough for you and you want more track racing action then the place to head is the famous Silverstone race circuit which hosts many events throughout the year. The British Racing & Sports Car Club – Finals Weekend hosts some amazing cars including Caterham’s, Alfa Romeo’s, Ford XR’s and not forgetting the Euro Saloon & Sportcar Championship.

NEC Classic car show3. The Classic Motorshow at the NEC in Birmingham is the go to show for classic car enthusiasts with 11 jam packed exhibition halls filled to the brim with rare and classic cars and boasts housing nearly 1,700 classic cars and a whopping 300 classic motor bikes. One of the highlights from this show is the chance for budding car restorers to learn from the masters from Leeds City College in the restoration theatre where you can learn all sorts from welding and fabrication to curing rust and building your own dream classic car.

Ace Café – No car show events list would be complete without a nod to the historic Ace Café in London the home to car meets from Mini’s to Volkswagens to Hot Rods and Vespas, the Ace Café is the home to all things fifties and the American style diner takes you straight back in time to those mod days. At the end of the year The Ace Café has an American car meet with a live DJ playing in the café throughout the evening making it a perfect night to enjoy after the Christmas celebrations.

The Performance Car Show NEC5. The Performance Car Show at the NEC in Birmingham  – is a must for any high adrenaline petrol head, with makes and models of cars from Lamborghini, Ferrari, McLaren, Aston Martin and Porsche, the show is the place to be for performance car lovers. For those that can’t afford to own one of these cars it’s a great day out to see some of these rare and very expensive cars up close and personal. For those that want more than just cars on show the indoor race circuit offer cars on display, drivers showing off their drifting skills, as well as stunt drivers and racing.
